The Colorado Trails Ranch Experience

You may arrive for your stay here not knowing exactly what to expect. Sure, you know that Colorado Trails Ranch has a wide range of activities, so there’s always something fun to do. Maybe you’ve heard about the wonderful food and can almost picture our fresh, home-baked breads. And perhaps on some level you know you’ll leave feeling so much better than when you arrived: rested, well cared for, and having smiled an awful lot. But you won’t have had the Colorado Trails experience yet… something that’s nearly impossible to put into words.

You arrive on Sunday afternoon or evening and get settled in for your ranch vacation. As you sit down to dinner – which might be prime rib, fresh asparagus, home-baked bread, a tossed green salad and a mouthwatering homemade dessert – you start to get it. As staff member after staff member warmly welcomes you, as you settle in to your cozy cabin, and as you look out at the mountains, you really get it. This week is going to be something extraordinary.

That’s no accident. We work hard at making sure that your vacation here is more than you could have expected.

There’s a wide range of daytime activities and instruction at our dude ranch – horseback riding, fishing, swimming, rafting, hiking, and more – giving you a chance to try new adventures. There are the entertaining evening activities, which include a hayride, cowboy campfire sing-along, and Western dancing.

The meals give you the opportunity to indulge yourself, as does the old-fashioned Soda Fountain with its milkshakes and banana splits. And the Soda Fountain is where your kids are sure to end up, flushed and happy from their activities and hanging out with their new friends – “instant friends,” we call it here at the ranch, where we see friendships form right away.

The children’s program at Colorado Trails is like no other. Divided into three age groups, each group’s schedule is perfect for those ages involved. Our friendly counselors laugh with your kids, give them instruction, and cheer them on. You can participate in activities with your children or just wait to see them at meals and for the evening activities. It’s up to you.

A unique feature of Colorado Trails Ranch is the sense of family that develops during the course of the week. With everyone arriving and departing at the same time, strong friendships develop among our guests (whether they’re adults or children)… and you also feel like you’ve joined our family and we’ve joined yours.

With a maximum of 55 guests and a 2-to-1 guest-to-staff ratio, we make everything easy for you: easy to have fun, to relax, to try new adventures and make new friends, to eat delicious food, and to feel comfortable, cared for, and a part of our family.
