Sample Itinerary
DAY 1 Saddle up and ride from the North Leigh trailhead along Tin Cup Creek or from the Teton Ridge Ranch barn. As we cross the open meadows, you'll want to stop and admire breath-taking views of the Tetons. We'll make our way down a steep spot on the trail but the reward is an exciting view of this spectacular canyon. From the ridge separating South Leigh Canyon from Granite Basin, we'll drop down into our secluded campsite at Dead Duck Lake. The horses love to graze the lush meadows near camp.
DAY 2 We'll saddle up and day ride to the divide. You can stop along the way to take pictures in the wildflower meadows and fish in the high mountain lakes. Enjoy a relaxing lunch as you look over into Jackson's Hole and Teton Basin. And, if you are game try hiking to the top of Little's Peak.
DAY 3 Our day trip today will take us over into South Leigh canyon to view the peaks from the ridge below Fred's Mountain. We will experience some steeps trails but our views will offer upclose views of the Grand Teton. An absolutely beautiful day!
DAY 4 This day perhaps we'll venture back down the Tin Cup trail but cross over the creek and do a loop ride on Beard's Mountain.
DAY 5 Our last day, after breakfast we'll pack our gear and head home through Green Lakes. Enjoy a beautiful picnic along side this beautiful high mountain lake. Our last hour enjoy the views of Teton Basin as we leisurely ride home to our original starting point. A perfect day for the completion of this pack trip!
Survey Peak to Granite Basin
