less riding in July and August, and no Cattle Work
A working cattle ranch where you can live the real cowboy life roping, reining, cutting, branding, and spending plenty of saddle time on this vast open—range outfit in the shadows of the majestic Wind River Mountains. Catching and saddling your sound ranch horse at sun-up, you will cover miles every day caring for nearly 1000 head of cattle and the land upon which they depend. In the spring you will help bring the cattle to summer range in the mountains and learn to rope as we put the Three Quarter Circle brand on the calves. In the fall you can practice your cutting skills as we sort the cattle on the open range. Horses play an important role in ranch life and you'll have the opportunity for unlimited riding. Prior riding experience is mandatory and the ranch has a wide range of saddle horses to match your experience level. With only 6 to 8 riding guests per week, we will provide individual attention to each rider. So no matter how much you've ridden before, you'll have the chance to improve your riding skills. Cutting, roping, reining & working cow horse fundamentals are available from rancher and master horseman Tony.
May & June
